One Room Challenge Week 7
One Room Challenge Week 7 is here and we are so close to wrapping up our budget kitchen refresh.
It is hard to believe that we are wrapping up our first ever One Room Challenge.
Welcome to week 7 of the challenge.
When this first began my plan for the space was just a bit different.
Making a few adjustments prior to actually getting started we came up with the new plan, which you can see here.
So where are we?
Where we are with the space
At this point we have removed the old outdated ceramic tile and replaced it with pine shiplap.
Updated our pendent lights by switching out the shades and painting the down rod.
I also switched out the faucet for a more sleek modern one.
This was the hardest part for me so far.
This was hard because I actually switched out the faucet myself.
I never thought I could do it, but i stuck with it and only spent 10 hours replacing the faucet.
Now I have a new skill and a lot of respect for plumbers.
You can see what I learned while doing my first faucet replacement.
Our vintage rug came in and we are waiting on more shiplap for the underside of the bar area.
There are just a couple of small tweaks left in order for our first One Room Challenge to be complete.
What is left for the One Room Challenge
Just a few little things need to be done in order to compete the One Room Challenge.
Changing out the hardware still needs to be done.
We are waiting for the remainder of our shiplap to be restocked at our local hardware store.
But are making a few adjustments to the plan just in case that does not happen in time.
That has been one of the biggest issues during this entire challenge.
Getting the supplies in a timely manner due to the current situation.
Other than that it has gone pretty smoothly and I am ready to finish up.
I am really excited to reveal the final look of this budget friendly kitchen refresh for the One Room Challenge.
Be sure to check out all the other amazing designers and guest participants in the Spring 2020 ORC.
Come back next week for the full kitchen refresh reveal.
Till then
Xoxo

You must be so frustrated with shipment delays. I’ve got one package ordered on May 18 that still isn’t here. Very frustrating.
I am looking forward to seeing more of your shiplap.
Yes the delays have been tough and at this point it is looking like the shiplap will not be here on time, so we are looking into plan B. I am super excited to show the full reveal, it is amazing how big changes come from small things.
I just love how it’s all coming together
Thank you Shannon, I am excited to get it all done.
Yay! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Julie
Everything you’ve done so far has made such a big impact! The shipping delays must be so frustrating. I’m sure it will all come together, though. I love the shiplap!
Thank you Rebecca, I am finally ready to work on the final reveal without a few details that just did not come through but I am thrilled with how it turned out.
I love to see how it is coming together! I admire your perseverance to install your own faucet…that is impressive!
Thanks so much Lynne, it was hard and I did want to give up a few times but in the end I am so glad I stuck with it.
