Thrifty Thursday, where to find French inspired decor on a budget
Welcome to Thrifty Thursday. I am starting a weekly post on all things home and thrifty, two of my favorite things. This first thrifty Thursday is where to find French inspired decor on a budget.
You know I love a good bargain, especially when it includes French inspired decor and vintage or antique pieces on a budget.
I know that sounds like an oxymoron doesn’t it?
But I scoured the internet to find some of the best deals and wanted to share them here with you.
French inspired portraits
French inspired portraits seem to be everyones favorites right now.
There is something so intriging about those paintings and I love searching for them.
They can be extremely expensive so finding budget ones is often hard but it can be done.
Here are a few great resources for portraits.
This shop has a wide variety in pricing but there are some really well priced portraits.
Often this shop will have portraits, check it frequently.
Looking for some oil portraits that are not quite as old this shop has some great smaller scale pieces.
The key to looking for portraits on Etsy is reading the description to be sure you are not getting a digital download.
Ironstone and transferware
Some local areas have tons of white ironstone depending on where you live but others barely have any.
Looking on Etsy for these pieces you find some at great prices.
These shops have a great collection at really good prices.

French hemp linen
This has become my newest quest for some furniture recovering that needs to be done.
I love the look and feel of these fabrics and can’t wait to get some.
The pricing for this like anything else is all over the place, but these are some of the best prices.
Here are some great sources that I have found.

It is important to consider shipping into the cost because these items are coming from overseas and often have high shipping fees.
Something to be aware of when shopping on Etsy is you can barter with the seller on pricing and shipping.
Just send them an email and ask, you never know until you do but I have had good luck with this.
I hope these sources have been helpful and I look forward to next weeks, Thrifty Thursday.
Please let me know if there is anything in particular you are looking for, I would love to help you find it.
Till then
Xoxo

These are great tips! I haven’t had much luck finding ironstone around me. Maybe I need to head out your way!
Thank you and you can come here any time and we can go shopping together.
