We made it to the weekend and honestly after this We made it to the weekend and honestly after this week that is something to celebrate. Returning to work has left me more exhausted than I expected. By the end of the day, I’m ready to put my bag down, kick off my shoes, and just be home. So this weekend, I’m keeping things simple.
Coffee.
Home.
A little decorating.
Maybe some time outside.
And absolutely no pressure to accomplish everything.

I’m not going to pretend returning to the classr I’m not going to pretend returning to the classroom hasn’t exhausted me, it has. By the time I walk through the door at the end of the day, I’m tired in a way that’s hard to explain.
Tired from thinking.
Tired from talking.
Tired from making a hundred little decisions.
Tired from giving so much of myself all day. And then I come home I kick off my shoes, put my bag down, and take a breath.
The house isn’t perfect and there are things that need to be picked up. Dinner still needs to happen and tomorrow is already waiting,
but for the moment I’m home.
And lately I’ve realized how much that moment means me, and that this is my place to exhale. The things I’ve collected and loved over time somehow feel different at the end of a long day, they remind me that this is my space, my little place to land.
Maybe that’s one of the reasons I love creating a home so much. Not because I need it to be perfect...
but because at the end of a long day, I need somewhere that feels like home.

I know it’s still August, but I couldn’t resis I know it’s still August, but I couldn’t resist bringing out my favorite fall candle.
There is just something about lighting a candle that makes home feel a little cozier. The air is still running and beach days aren’t over. Summer is still very much here at the coast, but this little scent has me looking forward to slow evenings, cozy mornings, and all the little things that make home feel special in the fall. I’m not rushing the season, I’m just letting a little bit of fall find its way into my home. Sometimes that’s all it takes to make an ordinary day feel a little more special.

After a long week, I’m really looking forward to After a long week, I’m really looking forward to a weekend at home. No big plans. Just coffee in the morning, puttering around the house, maybe moving a few things around, enjoying the garden, and taking my time with the little things.
Happy weekend!!

Sometimes your house doesn’t need anything new, Sometimes your house doesn’t need anything new, it just needs you to look at it differently.
I’ve been switching a few things around the house lately-moving furniture from outside, changing up little corners, bringing pieces into rooms where I hadn’t used them before. It is amazing how different a space can feel without spending a dime.
That’s one of my favorite things about decorating slowly. You don’t always need to buy something to make your home feel fresh.
It’s a little reminder that decorating doesn’t have to be about constantly adding. Sometimes it’s about seeing what you already have in a new way, and that’s a pretty good approach to life, too.

Today feels a little harder than I expected. After Today feels a little harder than I expected. After having some time away, slowing down, spending time with family, and enjoying the last bit of summer, going back to work and university feels overwhelming. I’m trying to remind myself that I don’t have to figure out this whole season today, one day at a time.

I have been a little quiet around here lately. I t I have been a little quiet around here lately. I took a break from instagram and spent my final week of summer simply enjoying life before returning to work tomorrow. There was time with family, time away, slow mornings, good conversations and plenty of moments that did not make it into my camera roll. Honestly, I am glad. Coming home made me realize something I have been thinking a lot about lately. I am not interested in creating a perfect home as I am creating a home that feels like ours. A home that’s lived in. A home with things we’ve collected over time, pieces I’ve thrifted, corners that aren’t always finished, and spaces that hold the memories of the people I love.
Maybe that’s what this season is teaching me. That home isn’t something we have to constantly improve before we can enjoy it.
We can simply live in it.
Tomorrow I return to work, and a new routine begins. I’m taking a little bit of this slower summer pace with me-and a renewed
appreciation for the home
I’m coming back to. Because I’m realizing more and more the beautiful life I’m creating isn’t somewhere down the road, It’s happening right here.

One last little bit of summer before real life sta One last little bit of summer before real life starts again.
We’ve been traveling, spending time with family, seeing new places, and just enjoying being away from the usual routine.
Next week I go back to work, so I’m trying not to rush through these last few days. I’m learning that I don’t need a big vacation or a perfectly planned itinerary to feel like I’ve stepped away for a while.
Sometimes it’s just getting out of your normal surroundings, seeing something different, having a long conversation, and remembering that there is a whole world beyond the daily routine. So for now, I’m soaking up these last few days of summer freedom. Then it’s back to work, back to routines, and back to figuring out what this next season looks like. But I’m taking a little bit of this slower pace with me.
