How to add a little fall cozy to your master bedroom
Welcome to the fall bedroom ideas blog hop. Today I am joining seven of my blogging friends in sharing some fun fall ideas for your bedroom. I am sharing how to add a little fall cozy to your master bedroom.
Hello fall!
I am so excited that fall has finally arrived.
Today in celebration of fall I am joining some blogger friends in sharing our fall bedroom ideas.
We all have different, yet amazing styles to inspire you in your bedroom decor.
I am sharing how to add a little fall cozy to your master bedroom.
Bedroom style
When thinking of a bedroom, especially a master bedroom there are some simple elements that should be included when possible.
- comfy and cozy bedding
- a chair for reading or putting on your shoes
- a nightstand or two
- simple decor elements
These are the elements that I worked with specifically in my master bedroom adding in some fall cozy.
Creating a comfortable, cozy fall bed
You have to know that it is still hot here in the south so I have not changed out my lighter coverlet just yet.
What I did do was switch out my shams with some that have lots of fall colors.
Rust, burgundy, muted mustard and blues, all the colors of fall.
To that I added in two neutral pillows and one single darker mustard colored pillow.
The contrast in colors really pop against the white coverlet.
Much like the leaves in nature when they begin to show their colors.
Be sure to use inserts larger than your pillows covers.
This will give them that full, cozy look.
To top it off add in some texture.
I laid my wool, plaid blanket at the end of the bed.
It has the same tones as the pillows and ties the look together.
There is no secret that I love neutrals ,but in the bedroom I love mixing patterns for something a bit unexpected.
Adding a comfortable chair
Speaking of unexpected, the wicker chair that replaced the buffalo check wing back chair is just that, unexpected.
This space is full of dark, heavy furniture.
The previous wingback felt a bit traditional and stodgy so I found this amazing antique wicker chair.
Having springs in the seat make it super comfortable.
In order to cozy it up for fall I added the mustard corduroy pillow.
This tied the bedding pillows and blanket in with the chair.
Adding in an unexpected or different element creates a relaxed vibe which is exactly what a bedroom should feel.
Another untraditional addition to the master are the two different chalk painted smaller scale dressers.
Using untraditional elements for added comfort
When trying to create a relaxed feel in a bedroom, use pieces that are not part of a set.
Here I used two small scale dressers that are the same height but different designs instead of traditional nightstands.
Using these helps create a bit of unexpected style which lends to the relaxed feel.
To continue with the relaxed feel in the cozy fall master bedroom let’s talk about decor.
Adding in fall decor elements
The bedroom should be a place of respit from the day.
In order for a space to feel like a respit.
It is important to use some items that have memories attached in some way.
You can see here the decor on the side dressers is somewhat minimal.
While nothing screams “FALL” there is a feeling of fall.
The basket is filled with shells and other treasures found on family walks on the beach where we live.
Shells are not a traditional fall item, but they represent family memories.
Displaying them in the wood chest lends to the fall tones in nature.
Above the dresser is a simple wheat and gold wreath.
This wreath can be used through Thanksgiving and is a clear representation of fall.
The final touch on a the other side dresser is a vintage, worn , wooden bowl.
Filled with faux and real acorns.
Nothing says fall like acorns.
Adding these simple elements in the bedroom create a cozy fall retreat.
You to can create a fall cozy master bedroom if you think in terms of tones and textures.
Shopping your home to create your fall cozy master bedroom is not only easy but fun to see how creative you can be.
