Simple Spring home tour: ways to add seasonal touches.
Happy almost Spring and welcome to the simple, Spring home tour!
I know I am a little late, but it seems fitting since it is still snowing in some parts of the country.
So sorry to those of you that are still having winter like weather, maybe this will encourage you to get started on Spring changes anyway.
Spring has made an appearance here in Coastal North Carolina, with a few cooler days mixed in, so I started adding in some Spring touches.
Since I have been working on cultivating a more simplified life, I purged the boxes of Spring decor that I once used and focused more on the items that we have previously loved and enjoyed.
With the exception of plants and flowers.
Adding grocery store flowers
Adding grocery store flowers is one inexpensive item I like to purchase to add some seasonal touches to our home.
I love to go on walks and cut greenery from bushes and trees to add a sense of texture to small vases.
Using Sense of smell in your home
Burning my favorite candles to satisfy my sense of smell.
Which totally reminds me of the aromas of the season while adding a sense of cozy.
Using books for simple Spring decor
Another way I made some simple changes and freshened up our space, was switching out the books.
Bringing out books that I have not looked at or read in a while.

Additional easy Spring touches
The mantle did not change very much as all.
I did use a green glass jar that I had .
My husband bought me this fern that I added to the front of the gas logs.
According to Myquillyn aka “the Nester”, adding plants and flowers is the perfect way to add seasonal touches to your home.
Without adding bins of items that have to be stored until next year.
Adding personal touches
In today’s media culture it is easy to feel like we have to go with what is popular, forgetting what we truly love.
I love reading other blogs and following them on instagram for inspiration.
Taking that inspiration and creating my take on it.
I will put my spin on their ideas to make it my own and reflect what I love.
Decorating your home for any season should not be a race to the nearest home decor store.
Decorating your home should be a reflection of you and your family and how you live.
Honestly for years I have had an attic full of home decor bins.
Every time I opened that door to find something all I felt was complete overwhelm.
Hence the cultivating a more simplified home decor mindset this year.
This year I have done a few simple things to our home to switch it up for the holidays.
It has been a refreshing new start for me, it honestly feels less stressful and more enjoyable.
I hope that Spring will be in your area soon, if not I hope that you will add simple Spring touches to your home to freshen it up a bit.
Thanks for stopping by the simple Spring home tour.
Till next time
Xoxo
