Most of us have been staying home since sometime in early March.
During that time we have really been looking at our homes in a different way.
For some it may feel like we have been in the same season for way too long.
Looking at our homes day in and day out has us craving some change in our spaces.
What better time for change than fall?
Uncomplicated decor
When I think of fall I think of all the beautiful colors that you see when the leaves begin to change (in most parts of the country, at the beach not so much).
Bringing those wonderful colors inside is a great place to start adding fall into your home.
Adding greens, browns, warm wood colors and of course the color of pumpkins.
It is easy with touches of leather, a homemade pumpkin pillow, felted white pumpkins and green and amber glass.
Also layering old windows creates the texture and dimension that is so great this time of year.
These items are not only perfect for fall, they are uncomplicated in style and design.
They are not fussy but are a more simply stated fall story.
While also being able to transition into other seasons with the exception of the pumpkin pillow.
The pillows are just one way to create a sense of cozy.
Creating a sense of cozy
Another great and uncomplicated way to bring in a sense of cozy during the fall is with blankets for those cool mornings and nights.
This Scottish wool blanket is the perfect touch for a cozy fall day even though it is a little heavy for the area we live in.
Even when it is not being used it brings in all the fall colors.
Another simple idea is to add texture with unexpected things like a wickey bucket.
The texture of the bucket is great and can be used all year long just by changing out the florals in it.
Just adding these few items help make your home fall ready.
Keeping things simple, somewhat natural and uncomplicated.
Small simple touches for fall
Adding a mostly neutral wreath with just a pop of fall color is the perfect addition to your simple fall home.
A wreath can be obviously hung on your front door, but it can also be used on a chalkboard, mirror or a window.
This wreath i just popped in the middle of a frame that I love to add texture and visual interest and a bit of the unexpected.
Another simple and uncomplicated idea is to use a fall kitchen towel that can go all the way through Thanksgiving.
I also added in some vintage pumpkin salt and pepper shakers that were my grandmothers.
Adding in touches from our past brings back memories and helps to create our unique style.
These are truly simple touches that add a sense of fall to your home.
You do not necessarily have to go out and purchase things for your simple fall home decor.
But if you do need to add a little something, be sure to check out your local thrift stores.
During this time of being at home people have cleaned out their homes and donated some great items that you can purchase for just a few dollars.
This thrifted, original oil painting is perfect and I bring it out every fall.
The particular piece has all the beautiful colors of fall and adds a pop of color to an otherwise neutral home.
Be sure to check your thrift stores if you need to purchase items, you will find things that are unique and inexpensive.

Remember to decorate your mantel for fall
Of course I love a simple mantel and love the neutral tones with the warmth of the chunky wood and the found amber bottles.
This says cozy fall fire to me in such an uncomplicated way.
You can do so many things with your mantel, but that is for another post so stay tuned.
