Fall 2021 One Room Challenge
I am sure you have that one space in your home that is a challenge to decorate, a space that needs some attention.
Most homes have them and ours is no different. We are finally going to be working on our challenging space for the Fall 2021 One
Room Challenge.

What is the One Room Challenge?
The One Room Challenge is a highly anticipated event that happens twice a year, in the Spring and Fall.
There are twenty featured designers that participate on Wednesdays and guest participants that post on Thursdays.
Participants are given 8 weeks to complete the project of their choice while posting the updates weekly.
This season the media Partner for the One Room Challenge is Better Homes and Gardens.
This is my second time participating in the One Room Challenge, you can see the first project I did here.
At this point I am sure you are wondering what space I will be doing for the challenge.
Entryway space needing a refresh
The space I have chosen is a challenging entryway that is long, narrow and pretty dark.
It is a space that is also very difficult to photograph making it even more of a challenge.
The entryway of a home is the first thing people see as they enter, it should be inviting and welcoming.
Our entryway confuses people because of the length and shape.
Let me share a photo so you can see what I mean.

The challenges of this entryway
From looking at these photos you may think the entryway has great natural light, but it only does on sunny days that the front door is open.
We unfortunately can not have that door open much because the frame is not straight and snakes and lizards can get in through the space underneath the storm door.
That is something we do not want to happen anymore.
I am not sure you can tell but another challenging aspect of this space is that it has two closets side by side.
Not sure what the thought process was when the builder did that but one I turned into an office. You can see that here.
The one thing in this space that I would like to change but can not at this time is the flooring.
This flooring leads into the main living room and it is not in the budget or time frame to change that at this time, so that will not be part of this challenge.
Be sure to check back every Wednesday to see the post from the twenty featured designers here and every Thursday for all guest participant post.
I would love for you to follow along as I change this space to something a little more inviting and welcoming over the next 8 weeks.

Till next week
Xoxo
