If you are new here would like to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Sonya and I live at the North Carolina coast with my three kids and wild little dog, Ladybug. I am an Exceptional Children teacher and a home decor and diy enthusiast. I love nothing more than sharing how I create a beautiful home in a simple and budget friendly way.

Simple and thrifty Spring decor ideas

This week I am sharing some simple and thrifty Spring decor ideas with you.

The first place I would love to share with you is the family room.

Family room budget decor ideas for Spring

The family room is the place where my family gathers for game nights, watching movies and just simply hanging out.

If you have been here before then you know I love to keep things simple, neutral and somewhat minimal.

I like to have a comfortable space and not complicate it with lots of things.

To bring Spring into this space I added a few simple and thrifty touches, like the books on the end table.

Where I used a combination of free books from the local thrift store and a favorite by Myquillyn Smith.

Next to the books is a cloche I have had that I put a special piece of pottery from Reese at The Ruffled Linen that I stuck some preserved boxwood in.

That sweet little cement bunny is from the home decor store I work at a few times a month.

With a combination of thrifted and new items I was able to create a simple Spring vignette.

Even though I like to refresh my home for Spring, does not mean I am buying tons of new things each year.

Generally I use a mix of things I already have, thrifted items and one or two new items for the season.

Another item I decorated for Spring in my family room is the dough bowl.

Thrifty dough bowl decor

This vintage dough bowl is so much fun to decorate every season.

For Spring all I did was add some faux violets that I have had for 10 years, put them in vintage terracotta pots.

I placed them in the dough bowl, put a candle in another terracotta pot and filled in the space around the pots with moss from the Dollar Tree’s craft section.

This little Spring decor idea cost me about five dollars and only took a few minutes to create.

Another fun spot I like to refresh is my dining room table.

Simple Spring tablescape

Setting seasonal tables is fun and challenging with a small round table.

Months ago I found these colorful cloth napkins and a matching tablecloth at my favorite local thrift store.

Immediately I thought they would be perfect to create a simple and thrifty Spring tablescape.

The thrifted napkins coordinate perfectly with my cloth placemats that are reversible and create the perfect base.

Using these placemats and napkins helped to create visual interest on an otherwise simple tablescape.

On top of the napkins I placed some varying design white plates that I thrifted several years ago.

I found the cute melamine plates at Target for just a few dollars. They had several different designs.

The colors in the plates are in the thrifted cloth napkins I used in this Spring tablescape.

From there I added a simple thrifted vintage brass bunny and a vintage cloche with a new wicker egg.

These simple and thrifty touches helped to create a fun Spring tablescape.

Simple and thrifty decor ideas

Decorating for Spring does not have to be difficult or expensive, with just a few simple touches you can bring the feel of the season into your home.
