New room budget design plan
Last week I shared that we decided to totally makeover our screened in porch. Today I wanted to share our new room budget design plan.
After spending so much time at home this past year there were a few things we realized about our home.
We realized that we needed a space where we could create a place to sit and talk with quest or sit and read in quiet.
Another thing we realized was that we rarely used our screened in porch.
Mainly because we could not keep up with the maintenance of it with constant winds and storms.
Our screened in porch had become an eye sore and it was time to tackle that problem.
Last week I talked about how we came to the decision to totally makeover that space here.
You know I love a beautiful space but it always has to be on a budget.
Room makeover design ideas
For the new space I knew it would still going to be a long, narrow space.
With that in mind I had to choose carefully.
We are not changing the footprint of the space at all, just enclosing it.
Approaching the space knowing we could only work with what was already there kept us on budget.
The design plan also had to be within reason.
I created a mood board showing the idea for the new room budget design plan.
The look is more of a cottage style space.
My plan is to decorate on a budget through thrifting and finding what I can on facebook marketplace.
I want to be sure to get pieces that are the right size for a narrow space.
Being sure not to make it feel closed in with oversized pieces.
A few of the items I already have but the rest will be purchased specifically for the space.
One thing I am really excited about is the lighting.
I am planning on having a chandelier but my husband thinks we have to have a ceiling fan.
This may take some serious convincing on my part.
I will keep you posted on that.
So where are we in the process?
Where we are in the construction
As we speak the space is almost completely done.
I am so excited to share the next phase with you.
Walls are up and painted and I will be sharing that with you later in the week.
I think this space is going to become my new favorite spot in the house.
Be sure to check back later this week to see the structure of our new cottage style space.
Till next time.
Xoxo
