Budget decorating with free printables
Who doesn’t love a good budget decorating idea?
I love sharing ways to add style to your home on a budget. This is one of my favorites in budget decorating, using free printables to create art in your home. My hope is that you will see that it does take a lot of money to make your home meaningful and beautiful.
The print above with the C.S. Lewis quote is from a group I have been in called, Hopeologie (name has since changed to Hopewriters). I happen to love C.S. Lewis and having one of his quotes in our home has meaning for us. I put this free print in a five dollar raw wood frame from Michaels that I stained to go with our decor.
Quotes are on trend in home decor today and this one is a great reminder for everyday. Another free printable from the Hopeologie group. The frame that this one is in came from a yard sale and I did not have to make any changes to it, as it fit into our home just as it was.
The prints above are all just examples of some other free printables that I have in a notebook that I keep so that I may switch out my art when ever I get the urge, which in my case is often.
There are a lot of different places to get free printables or free art. The picture above has a free print that came with a piece of art I ordered from http://www.gracelaced.com Ruth Chou Simons does beautiful art with meaning and often will send a free print with a purchased print. I love her work and this one fit perfectly in our daughters room in addition to a piece of art she did.
Some things to think about when using printable in your home. Print them out on quality card stock to give them substance. Use quality frames that can be found at thrift stores and yard sales. Doing both of these things will elevate your free art to another level and I feel that no one will be aware that the art you have framed was absolutely free.
I hope that you will be inspired to find some free printables to frame and hang in your home, to look for quotes that may have meaning to you and your family and to find beautiful free art as well. Remember it does not have to be expensive to be beautiful.
Till next time
xoxo
