Neutral Holiday home tour
It is such an honor to be participating in the celebrating the season blog hop.
For those coming from Amy’s blog Attagirlsays , welcome.
I am so glad you are here for my neutral holiday home tour.
Thank you to Eileen from Sand Dollar Lane for putting this amazing hop together.
My holiday home
If you have been around here for any amount of time, you know I love neutral, minimal decor style in my home.
Naturally I went for a neutral holiday home for Christmas.
Christmas is such a special time of year.
A time to enjoy family, fellowship and gathering with those you hold near and dear.
The holiday season can become so hurried and filled with stress that I prefer to keep my holiday decor neutral and minimal.
Keeping things minimal creates a cozy and calm space for my family.
I do not want my decor to be fussy.
Or to get in the way of enjoying those that are gathering in our home.
With that in mind I am sharing some photos of areas in our home that I decorated in a neutral, minimal holiday scheme.
Trees
There are two trees this year.
One is a faux flocked tree in the front hall shared last week in a blog hop, you can find that here.
The flocked tree is simply decorated with mini lights, ribbon, pine cones and a few bird nest.
The other tree is our real tree in our family room.
Our real tree is decorated with ornaments we have collected through out the years as well as ones the kids have made, some even have a bit of color.
This year we did not even put half of our ornaments on the tree in order to keep it simple.
Those are the biggest decor items I used this year, the rest are just minimal touches.
Simple touches throughout the house
Sit back with a hot beverage and enjoy while I share more of my neutral holiday home.
A few touches added to this dresser we have in the living room.
Buffalo plaid trees from Walmart and a wreath added to the vintage frame.
My favorite piece here is the photo of my youngest with Santa at Disney.
Just look at Santa’s face, lord only know what my son was saying to him.
Speaking of Santa, this is my favorite Christmas art piece of Santa and the elves walking on the beach.
I had a hard time getting a shot of the picture due to glare but finally got it standing to the side of it.
How fitting since we live at the coast.
Last but not least is the main place to relax, the master bedroom.
The simple touches of a minimal Christmas pillow and a neutral felted garland is all the space needed for holiday cozy.
Master bedroom
Throughout the house I have added simple neutral touches that won’t require to much work to undecorate after the holidays.
Some of the neutral holiday decor can transition easily into winter decor and stay up a little while longer.
I love all the colors of the holiday , but this year neutral holiday decor was what I needed and it is just as cozy and inviting as all the traditional colors.

Thank you Libbie, I am really loving all the felted things this year. Happy to be hopping with you.
So pretty and calming. I especially love the wreath that is hung on the beautiful picture frame.
Carrie thank you so much. Calming is what I am looking for in my home these days. I love that little wreath as well and leave it up all year in different areas throughout our home.
You made neutral still look festive for Christmas. Love the picture with your son and Santa!
Paula thank you, that was my hope. That picture is my all time favorite photo, such a treasure.
That white frame with the wreath is super pretty!
Hi Julie thank you. That was a vintage frame and picture that I just painted over.
Beautiful home and holiday decor. I live on the coast too and it can be in the 70’s for the holidays and I feel jealous when see friends have snow up north for Christmas.
Merry Christmas,
Kippi
Thank you so much Kippi, I wish we could have snow just one time during the holidays but the 70’s is probably what we will have. Not complaining just dreaming of a white Christmas. Merry Christmas.
I luv all your cute holiday touches Sonya. Happy to be hopping with you!
