It’s the most time of the year when everyone is decorating their home for the holidays.
If you are looking for inspiration you are in the right place.
I am excited to be participating in the third annual Christmas Tree hop created by Michelle at Our Crafty Mom.
There are 40 amazing bloggers participating over two days, something for every decor style.

Over the last few Christmas’s I have decorated two trees, one faux and one real.
I wanted to share with you my beautiful, minimal Christmas tree decor.
Last year this tree was in my sons room.
Decorated with ornaments he has made over the last 12 years.
I decided to put the tree in our front entry hallway this year.
For something different I wanted to see if I could decorate it without spending any money by using what we already have that would not be used on our real tree.
The container
First I had to be creative with what I was going to put the tree in.
Our hallway is not that wide so I had to be sure whatever I used left enough space to walk by.
I chose this amazing Pottery Barn basket I have had for years that I found at a yard sale, it was the perfect size.

Lighting the tree
My flocked tree from Walmart is not very big around.
Trying to come up with lighting that would no overwhelm was a challenge.
I remembered I had a box set of two strands of tiny little battery operated lights that would be perfect.
Simple, warm glow lights that do eight different things and can be set on a timer.
Tree ornaments
Like I said, this tree is not very large and I did not want to put to much on the tree.
Up to the attic I went to go through my Christmas decoration storage bin and found three spools of simple ribbon.
The ribbon says peace, love and joy and is simple yet beautifu.
Each strand of ribbon cut into 9 inch long pieces and simply tied them onto the branches.

Final touches
After putting the cut ribbon on the branches in a random fashion, I added some large and small pine cones that I already had and a few small bird nest.

With just a few simple touches I was able to create a beautiful, minimal Christmas tree.

Thank you Libbie, simplicity is where I am at with everything this year.
I love the ribbon that you used to decorate your tree. It looks beautiful against the flocked branches and with the pine cones.

Thank you so much Trina, I am really happy with how it turned out.
That’s a fun way to do ribbon on a Christmas tree. I love it! Will remember this for sure. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
Thank you so much Cindy, I really like how it came out and I was able to use ribbon that had been in the attic for a few years. Hope you have a Merry Christmas as well.
Great idea to tie the ribbon onto your tree, Sonya! I love how it really made the tree look so full, but it still has minimalist charm. I’ve never owned a flocked tree, but I’m really digging all of the flocked trees I’m seeing. Yours is really beautiful.
Hi Crissy, thank you so much. This is my first flocked tree and it is not an expensive one so it does shed a bit if you bump into it but its good other than that.
Lovely tree very simple and I love all the ribbon you tied.
Thank you so much Maria, simple is my style these days.

Your tree is so beautiful in its simplicity. I love the flocked tree and the soft golden ribbon and rustic accents you’ve added!! Love the minimal vibe.
