l’ve had this coffee table tor years and I still l’ve had this coffee table tor years
and I still find myself moving things around on it. Trying something new, taking things away and adding something back. It’s never really “done”, but I think that’s what I like about it. It changes with the seasons, with my mood, with life. Just a simple little space that keeps becoming.

I didn’t go out and buy new decor for summer, I I didn’t go out and buy new decor for summer, I just used what I already had. A little red, white, and blue mixed into the pieces I love.
Nothing perfect, nothing overdone,
just simple touches that make the house feel like the season. I’ve learned I don’t need more, just a different way of seeing what’s already here.

l’ve been a little quiet on here today, and for l’ve been a little quiet on here today, and for a good reason.
Today I’m stepping away from the scroll, from trying to keep up and into something that matters so much more, our first grandbaby is arriving today.
It feels like everything is slowing down and speeding up all at once.
I just want to be present for it
for this moment, for this new beginning, for this next chapter of life.

I’ll be back soon…

I used to feel like I needed to figure everything I used to feel like I needed to figure everything out all at once. Like my home had to come together quickly. But the more I’ve lived here the more I’ve realized it doesn’t work like that. It take time, small changes and a lot of living in it, and that’s what makes it feel like home.

save this if you’ve been rushing your space

What my home really looks like on a summer day. No What my home really looks like on a summer day. Not perfectly clean, not fully put together.
Just a mix of little moments, some things done some things not. Blinds open, light coming in, life happening in between. It’s not perfect, but it feels like home.

Home in the summer feels different. A little ligh Home in the summer feels different.
A little lighter a little slower sunlight staying just a little later
things not as structured,
days not as rushed
just moving through it all a little more gently.
Nothing perfect, nothing finished just lived in and full in its own quiet way.
This is the kind of home I love most.

The internet can make us feel that we need to seek The internet can make us feel that we need to seek the approval of others in our homes and our lives. In the Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron says, “ The ego wants instant gratification and the addictive hit of an acknowledged win.” I am not here to gain others approval but to share what i love and hope that someone gleans some inspiration from that. If you find frustration in this space sometimes, remember why you are here.

but at the same time...
I’ve been thinking about what’s next, what retirement might look like, places we might go. How do we want life to feel in that season. It’s a quiet kind of balance being present where l am, while also dreaming a little ahead, and maybe that’s enough for now.

Anybody else feel this way??
