With our move just a few months away, I’m beginn

With our move just a few months away, I’m beginning the process of figuring out what’s coming with us and what we’re ready to let go of. And if you’ve ever moved after being in a home for a while, you know it’s not always as simple as deciding who keep and what to get rid of. There are things we use, things we love, things we’ve held onto for years, and things we probably forgot we even had. Some have meaning, some are useful, and some well, I’m not sure why they’re still here! I have a feeling this process will take some time, and that’s okay. One drawer, one closet, one decision at a time, we will get there.

After my first trip to High Point Market, my head is full of ideas and inspiration for the new home. So many beautiful details, things I want to think about, and ideas I’m excited to explore. But I’m also coming back to real life and the things that need tending right here at home. The yard needs a little attention before the colder weather settles in. There are a few things I want to get done outside while the days are still mild. So this weekend will be a little bit of both dreaming about what’s ahead and taking care of what’s right in front of me.

There’s something so exciting about stepping into a world centered around home, design, and all the little details that make a space feel special. You know I’m a girl who loves to thrift, shop secondhand, and create a home slowly, with pieces that have meaning. So I’m especially curious to see how all of that inspiration meets my own approach to home and how I will eventually incorporate new into my spaces in the coming months.

New home, a new chapter, and a little bit of letti

New home, a new chapter, and a little bit of letting go. We are in the process of purchasing a new build, and one of the things I’ve been thinking about most is downsizing. At this stage of life, I find myself looking at things a little differently. I still love a beautiful home. I still love collecting pieces, thrifting, and making a space feel personal. But I’m also thinking more about what I really need, what I want to carry into this next chapter, and what I’m ready to let go of. It’s a funny thing, for years we work toward creating a home, filling it with things we love, and making it ours. And then there comes a season when you start thinking about having less, simplifying, and making room for what comes next. I want to be more intentional about what I bring with me. This new home feels like an opportunity to do that. To start fresh, take my time, and create a home that reflects who l am now and the life I’m moving toward. So here’s to the next chapter of preparing for 60 and moving into a new, smaller space.

Friday evening, the week is over, and I’m ready

Friday evening, the week is over, and I’m ready to slow down.
Tonight I’m not worrying about the dusty furniture, the things that didn’t get done, or what could look better around the house. I’m just enjoying being home, a little music playing and something good to drink. The lights getting softer as the evening goes on. Honestly, there’s something beautiful about a home that’s actually lived in. The dust will still be there tomorrow. Tonight, I’m choosing to enjoy it.

Here’s to the start of a slow weekend and finding a little beauty in the ordinary.
