I used to feel like I needed to figure everything out all at once. Like my home had to come together quickly. But the more I’ve lived here the more I’ve realized it doesn’t work like that. It take time, small changes and a lot of living in it, and that’s what makes it feel like home.

I’ve been thinking about what’s next, what retirement might look like, places we might go. How do we want life to feel in that season. It’s a quiet kind of balance being present where l am, while also dreaming a little ahead, and maybe that’s enough for now.

Some days I love my home and some days I notice everything that isn’t done, the things I’d change, the projects I haven’t started, the corners that don’t feel quite right.
It doesn’t always feel calm or put together sometimes it iust feels like life, a little unfinished, a little in progress, but I’m learning that doesn’t mean it’s not a good home.
It just means I’m actually living in it.
