My first time at High Point
Market and I took it all in.
There’s something so exciting about stepping into a world centered around home, design, and all the little details that make a space feel special. You know I’m a girl who loves to thrift, shop secondhand, and create a home slowly, with pieces that have meaning. So I’m especially curious to see how all of that inspiration meets my own approach to home and how I will eventually incorporate new into my spaces in the coming months.

New home, a new chapter, and a little bit of letting go. We are in the process of purchasing a new build, and one of the things I’ve been thinking about most is downsizing. At this stage of life, I find myself looking at things a little differently. I still love a beautiful home. I still love collecting pieces, thrifting, and making a space feel personal. But I’m also thinking more about what I really need, what I want to carry into this next chapter, and what I’m ready to let go of. It’s a funny thing, for years we work toward creating a home, filling it with things we love, and making it ours. And then there comes a season when you start thinking about having less, simplifying, and making room for what comes next. I want to be more intentional about what I bring with me. This new home feels like an opportunity to do that. To start fresh, take my time, and create a home that reflects who l am now and the life I’m moving toward. So here’s to the next chapter of preparing for 60 and moving into a new, smaller space.

Friday evening, the week is over, and I’m ready

Friday evening, the week is over, and I’m ready to slow down.
Tonight I’m not worrying about the dusty furniture, the things that didn’t get done, or what could look better around the house. I’m just enjoying being home, a little music playing and something good to drink. The lights getting softer as the evening goes on. Honestly, there’s something beautiful about a home that’s actually lived in. The dust will still be there tomorrow. Tonight, I’m choosing to enjoy it.

Here’s to the start of a slow weekend and finding a little beauty in the ordinary.

I think my home is changing because I am. Lately, l’ve been less interested in making my rental look finished and more interested in making it feel like me. I’m moving things around and letting go of things I don’t love anymore. Bringing out pieces I’ve had for years. Thrifting when I find something that feels right instead of buying just to fill a space.
I’m realizing that becoming isn’t just about who I am becoming.
It’s also about what I choose to keep around me. Not doing less perfectly, just choosing more intentionally.

Lately, life has felt like a lot.
Work, school, responsibilities and by the time I get home, I’m tired.
I’ve realized I’m not craving perfect home, I’m craving a comfortable one. A lamp on, a candle burning,my favorite chair, and a little quiet. The kind of home where I can walk through the door, exhale, and just be myself. Maybe that’s my version of slow living these days.
