Home in the summer feels different.
A little lighter a little slower sunlight staying just a little later
things not as structured,
days not as rushed
just moving through it all a little more gently.
Nothing perfect, nothing finished just lived in and full in its own quiet way.
This is the kind of home I love most.

not feel like every decision has to be made right now

I’ve been thinking about what’s next, what retirement might look like, places we might go. How do we want life to feel in that season. It’s a quiet kind of balance being present where l am, while also dreaming a little ahead, and maybe that’s enough for now.

Some days I love my home and some days I notice everything that isn’t done, the things I’d change, the projects I haven’t started, the corners that don’t feel quite right.
It doesn’t always feel calm or put together sometimes it iust feels like life, a little unfinished, a little in progress, but I’m learning that doesn’t mean it’s not a good home.
It just means I’m actually living in it.

Very few pieces in my home are really permanent and I used to think that was a problem. Like I was doing it wrong or needed to wait until I could get it right,
but the truth is, most of what I’ve done here has been temporary. Just trying things, moving things, making it work for right now
and somehow that’s what made it feel like home.
