After living in this rental for a almost a year, it is finally feeling more like me. The little changes I have made makes it feel more like home, even if it is temporary. Changing out the overhead lights and installing the easiest bamboo roman shades from @twopagescurtains made all the difference. If you are currently in a rental there are little things you can do to make it feel more like you while living there. Don’t let the fact that it is a rental hold you back, make yourself at home.

I used to a lot of beautiful pottery from Seagrove, NC close to where I lived many years ago. This piece is one of the few that i still have and adore. I wish I had kept most of the other pieces, instead of parting with them because I decided they were not the style. I often have to remind myself that it is not about what is the current style but what I truly love that I should have in my home to tell my story. Any one else agree??

Having books in my home is one of my favorite thin

Having books in my home is one of my favorite things. They are great to use for decor and risers but most of all i love the inspiration I get from them. I enjoy having books that show all different kinds interior styles, that’s what helps me to create a home that is unique to me and not like everyone else’s. Instagram is good for that as well, to a certain extent, sometimes it is hard to stay true to who you are in this space,but i will always do what speaks to me in my home.

One of my favorite things to do is use vessels in ways they may not have been created for. A beautiful large bowl hold bath items, a large jar holding fresh lavender for the tub and crystal pieces for various things like soap and face cloths. Using unusual pieces like these add charm and elegance to generic spaces like the bathroom.
